We work hard so that you can play hard. Here’s how your new pool comes together, from the planning stages to taking that first plunge.

Planning (1 to 3 weeks):
We meet with the homeowner to determine needs, wants and price range. Then we draw custom plans for your backyard, complete with pricing. Refine plans and pricing. Sign contract. Secure pool permit and extras.

Excavation (one day):
Pool is drawn on ground, formed and dug. Type of equipment needed and resulting cost depends on yard access.

Steel (one day):
Only 1-inch rebar is used by DBCP, always on 10”x10” in centers or smaller. This makes your pool foundation much stronger. Plumbing (one day): All pool equipment plumbing is installed. 1- or 2-inch PVC is used. Two skimmers and main drains are plumbed separately for maximum flexibility of suction needs.

Gunite (one day):
Gunite (concrete) is sprayed into pool hole, over the rebar and plumbing. The pool Gunite needs to be watered 3 times daily for 7 straight days, which is the homeowner’s responsibility. ** This is important because the water helps the Gunite cure to a much stronger material.

Tile and coping (3 days):
Tile is installed at the waterline. The tile seals the pool and keeps a “bathtub” ring from staining the pool. Coping -- the flagstone (or other material) on the top perimeter of the Gunite -- is installed.

Decking (3 days):
Day one: The deck is formed, sand is installed and rebar is placed in the decking area.

Day two:
The city inspects the deck.

Day three:
The concrete is poured according to the type of decking selected (i.e. washed aggregate, hand-seeded, patterned concrete, etc.).

Plaster (1 to 2 days):
Pool is cleaned and plastered. Pool is sanded or acid washed (depending on type of plaster selected). As soon as the plaster is complete, the pool is filled. This takes one to two days.

Cleanup and startup (one day):
Your backyard is cleaned up and the pool water is balanced.

Pool School (one day):
We teach the homeowners how to maintain and use their new setup then we explain safety procedures.
