Think of gunite as the "concrete" that provides the strength and shape to your pool. The 4 bar beam has 12 inches of it, the sides have 8 to 12 inches and the floor has a minimum of 6 inches. That's a lot of gunite!
It is important that the rebar is placed in the center of the gunite, providing the maximum strength for your pool. It is in this phase that all your steps, benches, raised walls, etc. are carved and created.
After the gunite is sprayed in your pool, it is the your responsibility to water the gunite for 7 straight days (just like your favorite plant!). Gunite needs moisture to properly fasten into place. If not watered, the Gunite will become brittle and cause the pool to eventually crack.
